In 2014, the Japanese government established the “Basic Act for National Resilience” to prevent and mitigate disasters as well as accelerate the rate of recovery and reconstruction in a systematic manner. As a result, the Association for Resilience Japan (ARJ) was established to encourage corporations, NPOs, organizations, and individuals to propel a national movement towards developing a more resilient Japan. As a member and advisor to the ARJ secretariat, we are overseeing the “Transportation & Logistics Working Group” and collaborating with the UNISDR and PwC to realize the R!SE initiative. (Daruma Energy does not act independently of ARJ and all of our activities must be authorized by ARJ.)
